Foreword published in the Cultural Exchange Exhibition on Green Photographs catalogue
In
September 2009, the president an founder of the ELPF, Mrs. Sarai-Aser de Kruijf, was invited by Sun-byeong Hong, the president of the Green
Photo Association of Jeju, to hold a Netherlands photo exhibition in Jeju. She was subsequently introduced to the work of the Green Photo Association and its
members, all who are very inspiring and pleasant colleagues. She was invited to write some kind words in the foreword to their catalogue:
'Your photographs,
imbued with passion and love, captured fantastic images of the natural beauty
of the island. After experiencing the culture of Jeju Island, which is as a
World Natural Heritage, I took and displayed photographs of its beautiful
scenery in the Netherlands.
As the chairman of the Euro Latin Photographers Foundation Netherlands, I am
very glad with the result of the exposition: The establishment of a sisterhood
relationship between the Jeju Green Photo Association and the Euro Latin
Photographers Foundation Netherlands, creating an avenue for the exchange of
knowledge, ideas and friendship.
I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Hong, chairman of the Jeju Green
Photo Association and to its members, especially Mr. Frank Effting from the
Dutch Embassy, for their engagement and presence at the exhibition on Jeju
Island, I am very happy to have been able to take part in the 2009 and the 2010
International Exhibition of the Green Photo Association and would like to give
a special thanks to take part in the 2009 and the 2010 International Exhibition
of the Green Photo Association and I would like to give a special thanks to
everyone directly or indirectly involved in the accomplishement of this
succesful exhibition. In addition, I hope the 2010 World Conservation Congress
(WCC), which is tob e held on Jeju Island, is a success and I wish the readers
of this wonderful photo-book a lot of viewing pleasure. Above all, from the
bottom of my heart, my gratitude goes to the creator of heaven and Earth, my
creator, the Lord, our God, the architect of love and life, for the most
beautiful gift I received from Him, namely the photographic eye and my passion
for photography.'
